The Hulu Collection draws its form from the gourd, a symbol of health and longevity in Chinese culture.
The Hulu Saucière (Tall) reinterprets this form with softer curves and a taller, more fluid silhouette. Each piece is hand-thrown in one motion, a process that demands precision and control, allowing the form to emerge naturally and unforced. The spout is shaped for a smooth, steady pour, cutting cleanly without drips.
Finished with a thin, soft white glaze—known historically as “Tianbai Glaze” first developed and perfected during the Yongle reign of the Ming dynasty (15th–16th century). This glaze reveals the natural color of Jingdezhen’s kaolin clay. After high-temperature firing, a soft pale yellow hue emerges, giving the piece a warm, elegant, and timeless color.

- All items are dishwasher safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve their finish.
- Fine crackles (crazing) may appear over time, this is a normal feature of glazed ceramics and does not affect quality or safety. Each piece will develop its own unique pattern through use.
- Cutlery marks may appear with use; minor scuffs can be gently polished away with toothpaste, baking soda, vinegar, or a non-abrasive cleaner.
- Avoid using metal or abrasive pads when cleaning. A soft sponge or nylon pad is recommended to protect the glaze surface.
